Prior to joining WGN Radio, she co-hosted Good Day Chicago on Fox 32 Chicago and worked for PBS station WTTW, NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV in Chicago, ABC affiliate WPTA in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and KRIV in Houston. Davlantes has won many Regional Emmy Awards, including one for “Get Into The Shark Tank!”, an underwater documentary in which he swims with sharks. In 2002, Davlantes won a Regional Emmy Award for NBC 5 Chicago’s breaking news coverage of a catastrophic scaffolding collapse at the John Hancock Center.
Davlantes broke a story that received national media attention in May 2003 when he was the first to obtain video footage of seniors harassing juniors at a powderpuff game in Northbrook, Illinois. The disclosure of the hazing episode at Glenbrook North High School prompted national hazing reform. Davlantes spoke on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about hazing among kids. In 2005, Davlantes broadcast a series of reports detailing mob harassment in Bridgeview, Illinois. She received multiple threats while investigating the story. The Chicago Headline Club honored her work by bestowing the Ethics Award in Journalism.
Davlantes’ diving experience prepared her to present the documentary “Get Into the Shark Tank!”, which aired on NBC 5 Chicago and earned her another Regional Emmy Award. The documentary was recorded almost entirely underwater in the Shark Tank at the Shedd Aquarium, and Davlantes is credited with the first underwater live shot on a local newscast. She also serves as a co-host on WLS-AM radio alongside Roe Conn and Richard Roeper.[Citation needed] As of March 6, 2014, Davlantes is a radio host for WGN Radio and an anchor for WGN-TV, as well as a member of the investigation team.
