Allegra’s uncle Santo Versace already owned 30% of the fashion empire, and her mother owned 20%, but due to a long-standing feud between the two, Gianni bequeathed Allegra the remaining 50% of the Versace empire. Allegra’s value skyrocketed overnight, reaching hundreds of millions of dollars. Despite the fact that she was legally entitled to full control of her inheritance at the age of 18, she chose to focus solely on her studies and did not begin real participation in the Versace business until she was 24.
