In the College of Music, Alex studied accordion. He competed in several contests while there. When Alex graduated, he returned to the musical school, but this time he chose to study in the voice department. He was the principal vocalist of the Tula folklore group “Delight” for a brief time.

Alex got a gold medal for his solo performance in the Delphic Games IV in 2005. In the same year, Alex traveled to Moscow and finished third in a television competition. The project, titled Friend, is a collaboration with his buddy, Russian actor Sergei Romanovich. The latter had already appeared in Laskoviy Mai, a film about the career of the same-named Soviet band.
