In the Netflix adaption of Locke & Key, he plays Duncan Locke. Duncan Locke is one of the two tritagonists in the Netflix series Locke & Key. He is the late Rendell Locke’s brother and the uncle of Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke. His job and his boyfriend, Bryan, are both in Boston, so he spends as little time as possible at Keyhouse.
Duncan is unable to remember the presence of magic even without the Riffel Rule because his memories were erased by the Head Key after witnessing a traumatic occurrence. Duncan is later revealed to be one of the very few people known to have created new keys, having invented the Memory and Demon Keys. Duncan helps his family in protecting the Keyhouse against Dodge when his memories are returned.

He appeared as Jimmy Olsen, Chloe’s photographer boyfriend who works at the Daily Planet in the American superhero television series Smallville.Ashmore, who appeared as a recurring guest in season six, was promoted to main cast member in season seven. “I auditioned for [the role] and put myself on tape,” he said of his casting. I hadn’t heard anything, then a few of weeks later, all of the sudden (sic), I got the call saying, ‘You’re heading to Vancouver to start shooting Smallville’. It’s truly a dream come true.”
Ashmore’s character was killed off after three seasons on the show (two as a regular). Although Ashmore’s Jimmy Olsen was slain, he claimed that his character was not the “real” Jimmy Olsen, revealing that his real identity was Henry James Olsen. Jimmy’s younger brother, who makes a brief appearance in the season-eight finale, is supposed to be the Jimmy who works with Clark and Lois. In the series finale, Ashmore reprises his role as the younger Jimmy.
