She frequently went to church services with her parents, who are Pentecostal. Edebiri joined the Boston Latin School improv club after developing an early interest in humor in an eighth-grade acting class. She changed her major from theatrical writing to teaching at New York University, where she had originally planned to pursue a degree in teaching. Edebiri started pursuing a career in comedy during her junior year of college and worked as an intern at the Upright Citizens Brigade.
Net Worth
She has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
Height
She stands at a height of 5 feet 6½ inches (1.69 m).
Big Mouth
She is Missy Foreman-Greenwald’s new voice, replacing Jenny Slate, beginning with the Season 4 episode “Horror House”. Melissa “Missy” Foreman-Greenwald is a major character in Big Mouth and a close friend of Andrew, Jessi, and Nick. She’s a sensitive and geeky girl with a large heart who is somewhat behind in terms of physical development. She had Connie in the start of the series, but by “Disclosure the Movie: The Musical!”, Connie had mysteriously disappeared and been replaced with Mona.
Missy is a nerdy, outspoken, and nice girl with a high moral code. Despite her traditional appearance, her late puberty and geeky personality make her unpopular with the male pupils in her class. She is incredibly smart and adept at solving problems quickly. She is also surprisingly passionate, always losing herself in her dreams about the three people she “crushes” on: Andrew, Gustavo, and Nathan Fillion. Because of her parents, she was mostly oblivious to racism and little familiar with black culture prior to Season 4.
The Bear
She played Sydney Adamu in the first and second seasons of the comic drama series The Bear. Sydney “Syd” Adamu plays a major role in the comic drama series The Bear. She works as a sous chef at The Original Beef of Chicagoland, assisting Carmy Berzatto in the restaurant’s renovations. Sydney is ambitious, clever, and committed to her craft.
She is committed to building a respectful workplace and hopes to transform the back kitchen into a non-abusive, supportive environment. This is reflected in how she treats her workforce, encouraging them to adapt to new situations and achieve their maximum potential. Previous bosses describe her as ‘extremely clever and incredibly talented’ as well as ‘incredibly impatient and incredibly green.’
She loves to cook and works quite hard. She excels in the kitchen and organization, is constantly open to and advocates for change, and her strength is in her ability to adapt swiftly in times of crisis, frequently devising inventive solutions.
In Season 1, she frequently feels like a fish out of water among the rest of the crew, who are older, lack formal training, and have long-established ties, but she is determined to make it work, even if it means collaborating with Carmy and converting the kitchen into a professional, non-abusive workplace.
Clone High
She voices the relaunched version of Harriet Tubman in Clone High. Harriet Tubman is a Clone High High School student and a genetic clone of African-American abolitionist Araminta Ross, also known as Harriet Tubman. An early version of her appeared as a minor character from the first generation in Season 1. However, beginning with Season 2, her character was retconned as a second generation clone who became a new main cast member. Her first version debuted in “Makeover Makeover Makeover: The Makeover Episode,” whereas her updated version debuted more properly in “Let’s Try This Again.” Debra Wilson voiced her initial version, while Ayo Edebiri voices her current version.
First-generation Harriet is a prototypical black woman, grouchy and sassy. She is largely silent about Black culture. Harriet, a second-generation student, is forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and hardworking. She wants to be a wonderful mom while also maintaining good grades. Her best friend is Frida Kahlo, with whom she shares a passion for tandem bicycles. Harriet aspires to be a Hollywood star. She lives her life as if she were the star of her own movie, and she occasionally gives a “internal monologue” in front of a giant spotlight.
