George Shelley is an English singer, actor, and broadcaster who was formerly a member of the boy band Union J. In 2015, he appeared in the fifteenth series of ITV’s reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, finishing second to Vicky Pattison. George Shelley Union J

Shelley was a member of the British band Only the Young in 2012, but she quit the band to compete for The X Factor’s ninth season as a solo artist performing “Toxic” and was eliminated during the bootcamp stage, along with boy band Triple J. However, because Rough Copy had to withdraw from the contest, an extra seat became available in Louis Walsh’s category for judges’ houses.

The X Factor producers approached Triple J’s manager, Blair Dreelan, with an offer for the group to return, on the condition that Shelley be added to the three-piece. All parties accepted the offer, and the band, now four members strong, became Union J and advanced to the judges’ houses alongside other recalled group Times Red.

Union J advanced to the live concerts and ended fourth, trailing Christopher Maloney, Jahméne Douglas, and eventual winner James Arthur. On March 3, 2016, Shelley departed the band to pursue his acting and broadcasting careers. On January 31, 2022, it was reported that Union J would reform, with Shelley joining the band.
