Storyline
Caroline, who is neurotic but lovable, has been the love interest of many of the male characters. She began as Damon’s plaything in season one, which she still despises him for, and has since had serious relationships with Matt, Tyler, Alaric, and Stefan, as well as being the object of Klaus’s adoration. She is currently raising twins with Alaric. The show takes place in the fictitious town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. It follows Elena Gilbert, a teen who has lost both of her parents in a car accident. She falls in love with Stefan Salvatore, a 162-year-old vampire, but his brother returns with a plan to resurrect their former love Katherine Pierce. Flashbacks reveal the brothers’ history as well as the mythology of the town.

It’s Always the Innocent Ones, King’s debut album, was released independently in the United States in December 2006. She co-wrote 12 of the 14 songs on the album. The remaining tunes were a rendition of ‘Til Tuesday’s smash “Voices Carry” and a female version of American Hi-Fi’s “The Breakup Song” titled “Our Breakup Song.” The album was re-released in Japan in 2008 to greater success. Miley Cyrus’ Best of Both Worlds Tour featured King as a backup singer. In the 2008 3D concert video Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, she played herself. Accola sang a cover of The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame” on The Vampire Diaries in February 2011.
Accola appeared in a number of television shows, including How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, and Drop Dead Diva. She starred in the horror thriller Deadgirl in July 2009, about two high school guys who uncover an immortal woman in an abandoned sanatorium. Candice appeared in The Hannah Montana Movie in a minor part. She was cast as Caroline Forbes, one of the show’s main protagonists, in the CW television series The Vampire Diaries in 2009. In June 2012, she was cast as Chloe Cunningham, a 26-year-old woman who believes love does not exist, in the second season of the web series Dating Rules From My Future Self. In the 2020 romantic sequel After We Collided, she plays Kimberly.
