Following that, he worked as a chef in restaurants such as ‘Babbo,’ ‘The River Cafe,’ and ‘St John Bread and Wine.’ He then returned to Martha’s Vineyard and took over his family farm, where he began privately cooking. He was then hired as the executive chef at the ‘Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant’. Chris received the ‘Coastal New England Rising Star Award’ for his culinary work. He also had the rare opportunity to serve Barack and Michelle Obama, as ‘Beach Plum’ is one of Obama’s favorite restaurants. Chris has worked in top restaurants across the United States during his brilliant career as a chef.
Chris and Catherine Young collaborated on a book titled “The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook: A Year of Cooking on Martha’s Vineyard” in 2015. The book was inspired by his time spent cooking at Beetlebung Farm. Chris received the prestigious ‘James Beard Award’ for his work as an author.
