Zoë Chao Love Life

Zoë Chao The Afterparty
She appeared as Zoë Zhu in the American comedy murder mystery anthology television series The Afterparty. She was Aniq’s high school crush and subsequently, after her divorce from Brett, his lover. The first season is set during a high school reunion after-party, with each episode focusing on “a different character’s perspective” on what transpired that night. It is an example of “the millennial whodunnit,” a new subgenre of murder mystery in which the investigation is a vehicle for characters to find second chances, personal fulfillment, and a departure from boring or oppressive daily life (via the feeling that their life has become a new genre), according to critic Olivia Rutigliano.
The second season is set the day after a wedding and follows the same pattern of each guest’s viewpoint of the prior after-party and the events leading up to it.
