William Zabka The Karate Kid
In The Karate Kid, he played Johnny Lawrence, a position he reprised in the sequel and the Netflix (previously YouTube Premium) series Cobra Kai. Johnny Lawrence is a secondary antagonist in The Karate Kid and a key character in the Netflix series Cobra Kai. William Zabka portrays him.
Johnny was formerly the troubled rich boy of the Valley who began a thirty-year feud with the new kid Daniel LaRusso. John Kreese’s violent martial arts training made him a deadly opponent, and he was the top student at the Cobra Kai school. After losing the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny’s life was flipped upside down and remained that way throughout his adulthood, and he became Robby Keene’s estranged father. Johnny reopens Cobra Kai Dojo and becomes a sensei to a completely new generation of students in an attempt to reclaim his life.
Johnny was inspired to create Eagle Fang Karate after losing Cobra Kai to Kreese. When Kreese declared war on Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do, Johnny was forced to forge an alliance with Daniel in order to finally destroy his former Sensei. As he battled to gain Daniel’s regard, Johnny looked for a means to legitimize his violent karate technique. Meanwhile, he tried to work through his personal issues, including a history of problematic relationships, making a fresh start with Carmen Diaz and mending a shattered connection with Miguel.
Johnny put the dojo behind him after losing the 2019 All Valley and worked on repairing his friendship with Robby. After finding that he is expecting a child with Carmen, he determined to put an end to the competition between Miguel and Robby so that the child may be born in peace. When Silver badly beats Daniel during a parlay, he is dragged back into the dojo conflict. He joined forces with Daniel, Chozen, and his Eagle Fang students. They squared battle against Silver, who was at his most powerful.
William Zabka Psych
He appeared as Derek Bagg in the Psych episode “A Nightmare on State Street”. Derek Bagg teaches physical education at St. Thomas. He was a good baseball player who even won a prize in 1998 before an ATV crash ruptured his spleen and fractured his L4 and L5 vertebrae. He considers himself fortunate, however, because he would have been paralyzed if he hadn’t been intoxicated, according to the doctor. He also claims he enjoys his present job since it has nice hours, offers him summers off, and keeps Las Vegas only 57 minutes away.
Shawn and Gus look into Derek Eikleberry, who suspects his wife Gretchen of cheating on him. They discover that Gretchen was just teaching Derek to read and that he was beaten to death, suffering from traumas such as skull, ribs, kneecaps, nose, and jaw fractures. Zach, the major suspect, is apprehended and taken to jail.
During their inquiry, Gus has a dream in which Derek zombifies and murders Woody. Shawn claims to have solved Derek’s murder, citing his gambling addiction and proximity to Las Vegas as evidence. However, they discover that Derek’s fingers were shattered by a vengeful bookie who returned two days later to finish the job. The two race to the station, only to be outmatched by Brannigan, who has solved out the case for herself and is hauling in Derek’s murderer.
