Chitwood grew raised in a little community near Peoria, Illinois. Chitwood was highly involved in the stage-theater world as a youngster; both of her parents owned theaters, and she spent a lot of time on the stage and at her grandfather’s farm.
Career
She made her stage debut at the age of six months. She studied theater in college but left early to pursue an acting career in New York City, eventually deciding to focus on stand-up comedy at the age of 21. She worked as a comedy in New York and Los Angeles before relocating to Chicago. Her comedy is strange at times, and it frequently deals with political and LGBT subjects such as sexuality and gender identity, as well as personal issues such as infidelity and her rural Illinois ancestors. Chitwood is a regular at the Chicago Laugh Factory and has also performed at the Altercation Comedy Festival, Riot LA, Hollywood Improv, and Milwaukee Riverwest Fem Fest. She frequently contributes to the live “audio magazine” Paper Machete at Chicago’s Green Mill Cocktail Lounge.
