Walsh began her television career in the early 1990s as a news reporter for the city’s UPN affiliate in Los Angeles. Walsh was also a west coast correspondent for NBC’s Weekend Today. She worked as a correspondent and occasional anchor on the entertainment television news program Extra in 1995 and 1996, appearing in over 200 episodes. She also co-hosted the Learning Channel show How’d They Do That? (now TLC).
