Maybury was born in Japan, raised in Virginia, Alabama, Germany, and other locations, and attended high school in four separate towns. Her family comes from Alabama. Her grandfather worked as a clown, while her uncle was a magician. Maybury earned a teaching degree from James Madison University in Virginia and studied photography at the Hallmark Institute.

Wendy Career
A professional photographer, Maybury has worked with renowned artist Mary Ellen Mark and fashion photographer Jerry Avenaim. He worked as a shipboard photographer on Mississippi River cruises between Minneapolis and New Orleans. After living as a photographer in Mayberry, New York and Los Angeles, he moved to Minneapolis and began acting in 2013. Her early work revolved around her life as a 310-pound single woman. After losing weight and becoming pregnant, she feared her acting career would be over, but Louis Anderson encouraged her to continue, saying motherhood would be a useful joke. Since then, his literature has gradually shifted to focus on family and parenting. She has been appearing on Drinks Day with Mom since 2017, a stand-up focusing on parenting. She was a member of the Walking Dead fan podcast Dead Fans Talk from 2014 to 2017.
