Pastore The Sopranos

He portrayed Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero, soldier in the Soprano Crew, and member of the DiMeo crime family in a main role of The Sopranos. Salvatore Bonpensiero was a cat burglar and a member of the DiMeo mafia family. He was a business associate of DiMeo capo “Johnny Boy” Soprano and wed Angie Belfiore in 1976. After Johnny Boy passed away in 1986, Tony Soprano, his son, was given the title of capo of the crew, and Bonpensiero stayed faithful to the family. Paulie Gualtieri and Silvio Dante, two other Soprano associates, were employed with him.

In order to provide for his children and help them pay for college, Bonpensiero started a side business of trafficking heroin. Tony Soprano and Jackie Aprile Sr. both recommended against it, but Bonpensiero never accepted Aprile’s offer—possibly out of a dread of debt. Acting Boss Jackie Aprile and DiMeo capo Junior Soprano had a sit-down in 1995, arranged by Bonpensiero. When it came time for the actual sitdown, he was suspiciously late and offered reasons for his health issues. As a crucial member of the Soprano team in 1998, Bonpensiero was involved in a variety of activities. He assisted in the body’s disposal for Emil Kolar and was present when Soprano and the other DiMeo capos talked about their issues with Junior, the new acting boss figurehead.
