Storyline

Magnum IV is a private detective with a license, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL, then returned to the United States Navy as a Captain in 1988. His dad and his grandparents were also military officers. During his senior year at the United States Naval Academy, Magnum was the quarterback in the 1967 Army Navy Tie. The backup quarterback was Kenneth Reese. Magnum “went 21 for 30 during the game, with two touchdowns in the air, and a scramble for another.”

During the game, Magnum also made a key tackle: “One of the passes that I missed was intercepted.” It was caught by the quickest man on the Army squad, and he got past everybody, before I was the last one left who had a chance to catch him. “The guy was faster than me, and I knew it, but by my own mistake, I wasn’t going to get beat.” The Navy Secretary introduced the game ball to Magnum, but it was swallowed by the goat mascot of the team. The replacement quarterback was Kenneth Reese.
