His weekly cartoons are distributed nationwide through Daryl Cagle’s website, Cagle Cartoons. Dupuy’s works also include What Do I Want? It has been published in books, including the short story. (St. Martin’s Press, 2009) and the textbook Exploring Language 13th Edition (Longmans, 2011). In 2009, after the Tampa Tribune gave free use of an article by Dupuy, Dupuy created a YouTube video embarrassing the newspaper and paid $75 for the article.
In his youth, Dupuy became convinced that he was an alcoholic and joined Alcoholics Anonymous, thus becoming famous for telling the story of his sobriety to AA audiences. But when he left the group two decades later, he began asking other people to interpret his life, deciding that the only way to determine whether he was a DUI and see what happened was to see what happened. He discussed the process of coming to that conclusion in an interview with American Life.
Dupuy has publicly stated that he was born into the Children of God and later raised in a California orphanage. He created the podcast Cultish, where he interviews former members and talks about his uncle Rick Dupuy’s public protests. In late 2017, Dupuy sought to substantiate the fact that seven other female accusers had become a pattern of abuse of power by the now-U.S. Senator. Dupuy lives in Manhattan. In April 2023, Dupuy’s then-85-year-old neighbor, Broadway actress Sheila Sullivan, was granted an eviction order after living in the same apartment for 40 years. Dupuy saved Sullivan’s house.
