In college, he started a career as a journalist for The New York Times. He worked for more than 10 years as a news journalist for New York City’s ABC-7 Eyewitness News. Later, he was the chief investigative reporter at WNBC, the NBC Television Network’s flagship station in New York City. He was a co-founder of Zazoom Media Group and its previous CEO. He is the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s director of communications at the moment. He has won eighteen Emmy Awards. He started working for The New York Times while still a student at Cornell, and in his sophomore year, he published multiple pieces regarding the admissions process among other things.

In 1983, he started his career in television as an investigative reporter for Miami’s WTVJ. He relocated to WABC-TV in New York after spending four years in Miami. He worked for Eyewitness News for ten years. He oversaw the TWA Flight 800 crash investigation during this time. He also reported on Omar Abdel-Rahman’s trial and the trials of other terrorists found guilty of planning to blow up numerous American jetliners.

Minton looked into a string of construction mishaps in New York City that resulted in Patricia J. Lancaster, the Department of Buildings Commissioner, resigning in April 2008.
