The show contains politically incorrect and racy humor, such as comments about racism, sexual orientation, substance addiction, rape, pedophilia, and mental illnesses.
Because the deputies are continually cursing, much of their conversation is edited for transmission. The characters in the show periodically refer to their own show, arguing that the captured footage was intended for a Fox Television documentary series. Some suspects make reference to the film crew and the television program, and some even try to get arrested solely to appear on the show.
