Strasser began writing for Win Ben Stein’s Money in 1997 and won a Daytime Emmy Award for it. He has had other modest film appearances and writing projects, including one for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. After former host Anna Bocci quit the show, Strasser hosted fifty episodes of While You Were Out. Strasser has previously worked on the show as a writer. She didn’t consider herself handy, but she made up for it with her dark sense of humor and sensitivity, as evidenced by her tears after multiple improvements. Strasser was fired from the show after only one season. Strasser took over as news anchor for The Adam Carolla Show on May 8, 2006, replacing Rachel Perry. She had already filled in for Perry before he became official.
Strasser and Lynette Carolla (wife of Adam Carolla) co-hosted a weekly hourlong podcast about their parenting experiences from February to August 2010. Due to other commitments, Strasser departed the Parent Experiment and was replaced by Susanna Brisk. Strasser was named as Tilden’s female co-anchor on the Peter Tilden Show on August 19, 2010.
