Prior to joining the New York Market, she worked for the Big Ten Network. She appeared on BTN Live, BTN Football Pregame, and the Women’s Sports Report. She was a sideline reporter for CBS Sports Network for the 2016-2017 football season. Before joining SNY, CBS, and BTN, Rooks was a football and basketball recruiting writer for scout.com. She appears on-air for significant events such as the Big Ten Football Championship. During her stay at the University of Illinois, Rooks covered and broke national football/basketball recruiting stories for Scout.com. At the age of 19, she appeared on CBS Sports Network to report on the WBB Pre-NIT Championship. Throughout college, she interned for the PGA Tour, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, and Fox Sports/Scout.com.
Rooks worked for scout.com from August 2012 until May 2014, covering Illinois football and basketball. She created national headlines with her reports and insights into the game, particularly in recruitment. Rooks revealed several stories about Cliff Alexander, Jalen Brunson, Quentin Snider, Aaron Jordan, Charles Matthews, and Jayson Tatum. In August 2014, two months after graduating from college, Rooks began working as an on-air host, reporter, and correspondent for the Big Ten Network.[8] She appeared nightly on the popular sports television show BTN Live, which included Dave Revsine, Mike Hall, and Rick Pizzo, as well as analysts Jim Jackson, Chuck Long, and Glen Mason.
