Coleman worked as the coordinator for the Philadelphia and New Jersey versions of the Learning Key, The Philadelphia Tribune’s weekly educational supplement. In 2000, the Learning Key won the National Newspaper Association Award for Best Youth Section under her guidance. She later worked as an assistant editor and columnist for Advance Newsmagazines, where she developed the “Kaleidoscope” column, which focused on workplace injustices and diversity. The column got first prize in the Editorial Division of Merion Publications’ Writer’s Excellence Awards in 2003. Coleman interviewed several notable individuals, including Jill Scott, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, to mention a few. Bank of America, GlaxoSmithKline, and Friends Hospital are among previous corporate clients. Coleman has also been featured on: NPR, “Wake Up Live” in Boston, Temple University, Praise 103.9, 107.9 WRNB and Borders Bookstore discussing sexual abuse.
