Suzy Cat Career

Cato began her broadcasting career at Whangarei’s KCCFM radio station before moving to Auckland to begin her television career in 1990. Cato’s first television appearance was as a host of the New Zealand version of the classic children’s television programme The Early Bird Show, which included a puppet named Russell Rooster. Cato went on to host the children’s television show 3pm after The Early Bird Show.

Cato launched the successful You and Me television show in 1993, which ran over 2000 episodes. Cato founded her own production firm, Treehut, after the show ended in 1998. Cato went on to create her hugely popular Suzy’s World, which aired 263 episodes between 1999 and 2002.

Cato has produced a television show, Bryan and Bobby, in collaboration with the New Zealand Police since 2005. Bryan and Bobby is an instructional show that uses song and entertainment to teach youngsters about safety.

Cato competed in the seventh season of Dancing With The Stars New Zealand. She will appear on one of two TV channels revealed on April 8, 2020, to educate New Zealand youngsters who are stranded at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Suzy debuted as the “Tui” on The Masked Singer NZ on May 9, 2021, and was the first to be eliminated.
