Kang was born in Clarkston, Georgia, to Korean immigrants. He was raised by his Korean mother and Black stepfather in Gainesville, Georgia. He relocated to Barstow, California, while in high school. While in college, he chose acting over law school, which saddened his parents, who were concerned that the absence of Asian Americans on American television meant a lack of job opportunities.

He appeared as John Mak, an Assistant U.S. attorney who leads the case in the murder of FBI agent Greg Knox in the American crime drama thriller television series Power. Gang Related

Carlos Acosta kills Ryan Lopez’s colleague James, but Ryan is unable to arrest him owing to his double life with the Los Angelicos gang. The GTF tries to uncover the rival gang members who shot Carlos while concealing Ryan’s involvement. The task team uncovers a human trafficking operation, and Javier agrees to sell fishscale, placing his family in risk. Carlos wants to get involved in the family’s business, while Cassius is suspended.
Chapel’s CI leads the GTF in a big raid on Javier’s shipments, and Daniel is taken. Javier has 24 hours to find the lost fishscale money, while Chapel believes his department has a mole. Los Angelicos seek vengeance for Ryan’s betrayal, and Jessica is taken aback by a revelation about Ryan. Ryan discovers that his hidden duffle bag has gone missing, and Acosta gives up the Metas. Jessica Chapel is murdered, and Daniel uses his wedding to facilitate a bargain between Javier and Lavar Quintel.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
He appeared as the Fifth Brother in the American space opera television miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Fifth Brother is an Inquisitor who opposes Reva and firmly adheres to commands from both the Grand Inquisitor and Darth Vader. Philip Anthony-Rodriguez previously voiced The Fifth Brother in Rebels. The series takes place after the events of the film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), which saw the Jedi Order cleansed with Order 66 and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi’s protégé, Anakin Skywalker, become the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
