Seidell was hired to work at CollegeHumor.com in 2004 and became one of the original staff members. She edited the home page of the website she. She also wrote for The Hard Work Story. Seidel’s character is now called Streeter Theeter. The Hard Work was made into a television comedy by MTV. It describes a daily performance of “hard work” in which workers create fake copies of themselves in their New York offices. The show aired on February 9, 2009.
Seidell was hired by SNL as a writer in 2014 and was promoted to supervising writer in 2017 and first writer in early 2022. His writing partner on SNL is Mikey Day. Notable sketches include Kate McKinnon’s “Close Encounters,” Pete Davidson’s “Poolboy” series, “The Haunted Elevator” (ft. “David S. Pumpkins” starring Tom Hanks and “Beavis and Butt-Head” starring Ryan Gosling. A live-action film is also in pre-production, along with a Space Camp remake of the short film The Man and The Man, produced by Walt Disney Pictures. He inherited it from his hormone-free uncle (Amir Blumenfeld). Seidel appeared on the History Channel’s I Love the 1880s, where he and several other comedians made witty comments about historical facts and trivia.
Seidel wrote White Wail: An Examination of the First World Problem. The book, released on October 1, 2013, has several chapters explaining various luxuries and why people who complain about them are somehow considered white complainers. Each chapter concludes with a summary of some of the social media posts from these disgruntled people. Seidell launched his podcast, The Talk of Shame Show, on May 15, 2014. The podcast features weekly guests discussing scandalous stories from their past, as well as stories sent in to fans. The program also features several other college stars, including Jake Hurwitz, Amir Blumenfeld, and Dan Guruwicz. Seidel has also written for the New York Times, Mental Floss, Metro NY and Men’s Fitness. He also wrote the book “College Fun Tips: Selling Your Kidneys for Beer Money, Sleeping with Professors, Communication and Other Really Cool Ideas” with other college writers and editors. Seidel is also a writer for the ABC comedy Trophy Wife.
