In the early 1970s, a group of artists in Boston worked regularly in the theater organization founded by Martin Olson and Barry Crimmins behind the Chinese restaurant Dinghe near Inman Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. On November 3, 2005, Steve opened the Steve Sweeney Comedy Club in Boston’s Copley Square with his longtime friend Dick Doherty.
