Danaos Career
In December 2006, Stav applied for a position at the BBC Weather Centre as a broadcaster. After a successful screen test and a subsequent interview, Stav started working with the famous team in February 2007, presenting the weather on BBC Nations and Regions radio shows. He started appearing for BBC regional news programs including Reporting Scotland. He’s also done work in Newcastle, Northern Ireland, and Birmingham as a presenter. As well as writing world weather articles for the web and being in charge of Ceefax weather pages, Stav has also had the opportunity to broadcast regional weather on television as part of leave cover for the regional presenters. He has produced a television showreel as part of his TV training program. As well as his keen interest in weather, Stav loves to travel and cook in his spare time and lists cooking as one of his favorite hobbies. He is an excellent cook and has worked with an independent catering company producing bespoke food for exclusive private functions and weddings. He is also a keen environmentalist and an active member of several organizations, including the RSPB and Woodland Trust. Stav loves a good long ramble and meets up with some of his best friends every few months to undertake a weekend excursion. Among his favorite places to walk are the West Country, North Wales, and the Peak District. One of Stav’s big challenges is to walk the entire 630 miles of Southwest Coast Path! In 2010, Stav moved to Glasgow’s Pacific Quay to work for the BBC Scotland. He was a regular voice on a Good Morning Scotland program and a breakfast TV presenter there. Although Stav enjoyed his time in Scotland, he returned to London in 2013 to join the UK’s and the world’s weather broadcasting teams.
