Stan Moore is a film director, screenwriter, and producer from the United States. As a high school project, he made amateur 8mm films with his pals. One film based on Agamemnon’s narrative was broadcast on Houston’s local NBC network.

Moore enrolled at Baylor University in the autumn of 1974 to study Biology and Chemistry and pursue a Pre-Med degree. He applied to North Texas State University’s graduate film program in 1983.

Moore applied to NASA for research funding under their new doctoral program after finishing his bachelor’s degree. While waiting for confirmation, he moved to Dallas, bought a professional still camera, and trained himself how to take fashion shots. He was also able to find work as a model and actor in Dallas’s burgeoning film and fashion sectors. Moore’s ambitions of working for NASA were dashed when NASA’s funding was cut in 1979. Moore spent several years performing, shooting stills, working as a grip, and freelance writing for newspapers and small businesses. He also tried his hand at stand-up comedy and comedy writing/directing. He created and directed shows at the Poverty Playhouse and 3rd Coast Comedy in Nashville.
He also did his stand-up act in New York at the Comic Strip and Dangerfield’s, in Dallas at the Comedy Corner, at North Texas State University, and in 1982, he won the Funniest Man in Denton award.Moore taught undergraduate TV/Film writing classes and developed a practicum for students at the local cable station while working on his degree. NT Scene, a student-produced show, provided students with real-world experience in producing a magazine-style program. The show is still running today, and it served as the anchor for the later-founded university cable station. Moore also auditioned for and was accepted by the Texas Stuntman’s Association while in graduate school.
He also worked as the film’s 2nd Assistant Director and recruited a large number of NTSU film students to act as grips, PAs, and extras. He received a master’s degree in Film Production/Critique and Electronic Arts in 1985. Moore continues to work as an actor and stuntman in films and commercials in Dallas. Moore became a SAG-AFTRA member and worked as an Associate Producer on the film “No Safe Haven” starring Wings Hauser in 1986. The realm of low-budget action films allowed him to learn filmmaking from almost every perspective. When the opportunity to participate in the low-budget picture R.O.T.O.R. arose in 1987, Moore found himself assisting to cast and explore locations during pre-production and then filling in for the fired director.
Stan relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1989, and began working in the music video production industry. He shot and directed approximately 200 music videos as a subcontractor for Jim Owens Entertainment, helping to establish a collection of oldies and karaoke videos. He quickly began directing country music videos for artists such as Moe Bandy, Clinton Gregory, Glen Campbell, and Mel McDaniel. His “Play, Ruby, Play” music video for Clinton Gregory won Best Independent Video at the Music Row Video Awards. Moore founded his own production firm, Moore Productions, in 1991, which eventually became an S-Corp called M.P. Films, Inc. His production firm has created over 70 television advertisements, 50 music videos, and 300+ industrial films over the years.

His films have been screened at film festivals all around the world, including the American Film Institute, the Hollywood Film Festival, the Houston Film Festival, and the Chicago International Film Festival. The Liberty Film Festival in Los Angeles, the International Christian Film Festival, and the Telly Awards have all recognized Stan’s documentary work. As a screenwriter, his historic work for The Flying Tigers won awards at the Charleston Film Festival and the Phoenix Film Festival.
