Before coming to Long Island, Bell worked for more than a decade at WJW FOX 8 News in Cleveland, Ohio. She has volunteered as a host for the New York Urban League’s annual “Empowerment Days” and as a mentor to young women interested in pursuing media careers. Bell began her career as an anchor/reporter for the Shreveport, Louisiana-based television stations KTBS, KTAL, and the CBS affiliate KSLA News 12 in Texarkana, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a minor in English from the University of Central Arkansas.
Bell took over co-anchor duties of the 5 PM and 10 PM news after two years of 4 a.m. wake-up calls and facing freezing temperatures to report Cleveland’s top-rated morning show.
