Shohreh Aghdashloo The Report
She appeared as Azam Firuzkui in the 1977 Iranian drama film The Report. Firuzkui, a corrupt young clerk in the Ministry of Finance, and his wife, Shohreh Aghdashloo, are the focus of the second half of the film. They have a young daughter, whom he appears to adore but is primarily cared for by his wife. They are served with an eviction notice, but Firuzkiu refuses to pay the rent. He drags his wife into another room and beats her up after an argument. He then walks the girl to his car and drives to a store to get a beer.
When he returns to the apartment, he finds his wife passed out from a pill overdose. He drives her to the hospital, where he is reassured by a doctor that the pills will not kill her. He remains in the room with her comatose body, gazing out the window into the winter night.

She appeared as Nadereh “Nadi” Behrani in the 2003 American psychological drama film House of Sand and Fog. Kathy Nicolo, a recovering drug addict, is evicted from her home by Sheriff’s Deputy Lester Burdon for failing to pay her business taxes. Massoud Amir Behrani, a former Imperial Iranian Army colonel, buys her house for a quarter of its value with the intention of improving and selling it. Kathy is advised to sue the county by Connie Walsh, but she retaliates by harassing him and his family in front of potential buyers.
Lester offers to sell the house and give Kathy the money in exchange for her transferring ownership to him, but Esmail seizes Lester’s gun and shoots Esmail instead of Lester. After Lester confesses and is imprisoned, Massoud is arrested but released. Massoud begs God to save his son, but Esmail dies, and Massoud murders Nadereh by poisoning her tea.
Shohreh Aghdashloo The Exorcism of Emily Rose
She appeared as as Dr. Sadira Adani in the 2005 American supernatural horror legal drama film The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Erin Bruner, a young lawyer, takes on the case of Father Richard Moore, a Catholic diocesan priest charged with negligent homicide after an attempted exorcism on Emily Rose, a 19-year-old student. Prosecutor Ethan Thomas interviews several doctors and neurologists in order to determine the medical cause of Emily’s death.
Bruner backs Moore by calling anthropologist Sadira Adani to testify about spiritual possession, but Thomas dismisses her claims. Bruner is given a cassette tape on which the exorcism was recorded by Cartwright, a medical doctor who attended the exorcism, and Moore presents the tape as evidence. Bruner’s boss threatens to fire her if she lets Moore testify again, but Moore persuades her to let him tell the rest of Emily’s story. The jury eventually returns a guilty verdict, but Judge Brewster sentences Moore to time served. Bruner is offered a partnership in her firm, but she turns it down. Moore and Bruner pay a visit to Emily’s grave, and Moore predicts that Emily will be declared a saint.
