On March 10, 1958, Sharon Vonne Stone was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to Joseph William Stone II, a tool and die manufacturer and former factory worker, and Dorothy Marie (née Lawson), an accountant. Michael, Kelly, and Patrick Joseph (who passed away in 2023) are her three siblings. She comes from part of Ireland. She claimed that her Irish ancestors came to the United States during the Great Famine in a 2013 interview with Conan O’Brien. When Stone was five years old, she started the second grade because her parents thought she was academically gifted. Stone revealed that she and her sister had experienced sexual assault at the hands of their maternal grandpa when they were young in an interview with The New York Times in March 2021, in support of her memoir The Beauty of Living Twice. On the set of The Vegas Strip War, a television movie he produced and in which she featured, she first met television producer Michael Greenburg in 1984. In the same year, they got married. Greenburg worked with Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold as her line producer in 1986. After three years of separation, the couple’s divorce was finally formalized in 1990. Casino
Stone appeared as Ginger McKenna in the 1995 epic crime drama film Casino. The Chicago Outfit sends sports handicapper and Mafia associate Sam Rothstein to manage the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas in 1973. He doubles the casino’s earnings by taking additional unrecorded money from the count room and giving it to the bosses of the Midwest Mafia.
Sam’s childhood pal Nicky Santoro is banned from all Nevadan casinos once his name is entered into the Black Book. After falling in love, Sam marries Ginger McKenna, who has a daughter named Amy. Ginger’s relationship with her longtime boyfriend, hustler, and pimp Lester Diamond, is causing strain in their marriage. When slot manager Don Ward is fired by Sam in 1976 due to his incompetence, the Midwest bosses replace him with Artie Piscano, a Kansas City underboss who is also incompetent.
When Ginger abducts Amy in 1980, they begin an affair, which is what makes Sam and Nicky friends. After finding Piscano’s paperwork in 1982, the FBI shuts down the Tangiers. In 1983, Sam escapes a car bomb while Ginger perishes from a hot dosage. When the bosses give Frankie and his group the order to kill Nicky and Dominick in 1986, the old casinos are demolished and new ones are built.
