She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, vice president of the student government, and editor of the campus newspaper, Our Choking Times, as a student. In 2000, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat, US President Bill Clinton, and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak met for peace talks. Sharon took the photograph.
