Shaheed Woods is an American actor and comedian. Woods’ filmography includes Life! Camera Action… (2012), Non Compos Mentis (2010), and A Gentleman (2017).Woods initially came to popularity with his lead role in Life! Camera Action… as Mike, for which he earned his first international award for ‘Best Supporting Lead Actor’.

Woods first came to prominence with his leading role in Life! Camera… He played Mike, for which he won his first international “Best Actor” award. He began acting in theater and appeared in several local productions, including Under It All at Newark Symphony Hall. After performing at various venues, he was described by members of Newark’s performing arts community as a “shining light.” One of the shows was a fundraiser for the film Faces of Darkness, hosted by Kenneth Todd Nelson and Squatch Moore. After appearing in several short films, he met filmmaker Rohit Gupta on a short film directed by a New York Film Academy graduate. It was then that they ran into a friend and began discussing a short film project that would eventually become the critically acclaimed Life!. Action camera… Marks Woods’ first acting role in a film.
Woods began performing in a short play called Off the Bridge by Akua Doku. She was later chosen to teach an all-female reading class in New York called “The Rebirth of Black Women”. She has also collaborated on several short films with composer Carol White. White’s “One Minute Now” won first place in the Short Play Lab at Roy Arias Studios in Manhattan. She is working behind the scenes on “Pariah” with Dee Rees and is playing the role of meat in the pilot episode of the upcoming series “Boys and Girls”.
Wood has received further praise and awards for her leading role in the drama Midnight Joy. In the film, she appears as the voice of a mouse who appears in three short stories, “Epiphany”, “Free Will”, and the film “Animation”. Woods has been endorsed by LIFE! Camera Work… & Midnight Delight and has been offered the lead role in the Bollywood film Gentleman, which was released worldwide on August 25, 2017 by Fox Star Studios.
