Storyline
The series was created by Richard and Esther Shapiro, who also created Dynasty. It was set at a Naval Air Station somewhere in the American South and focused on the lives of the personnel stationed there. Emerald Point N.A.S was a typical soap opera, combining military and espionage plots with plots revolving around family intrigue, romance, and power scheming. Bill Conti composed the series’ theme song, which had previously been written for other prime-time dramas such as Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and Cagney and Lacey.
