In the fifth season, Jay meets renowned Dutch chess player Annelies De Runnow (Marissa Neitling) when stranded at Shannon Airport in Ireland as a result of a volcanic explosion in Iceland. After spending many hours at the airport, they begin to feel attracted to each other and decide to begin a long-distance romance. Jay originally turns down the opportunity to be Elizabeth’s chief of staff when she decides to run for president in order to begin a relationship with Annelies. Subsequently, Elizabeth reappoints Jay as her chief of staff.

The Last Day of August

He appeared as Mark in the 2012 American film drama 2012 The Last Day of August. Thirty-year-old Dan, still recovering from a car accident that left him paralyzed a year earlier, moves in with his family to their upstate New York cabin. On the final day of August, a few of his closest friends pay him a visit and question his decision to withdraw and adopt other self-destructive habits. They all try to strike a compromise between their concerns for his mental health and their demands that Dan reconsider how he is responding to his physical state.

House of Cards

However, Underwood realizes that the President expects him to advocate his agenda in Congress and will not uphold their agreement. Underwood hatches a complex plot behind the President’s back, with his wife Claire heading an NGO called the Clean Water Initiative, which she exploits to grow her own authority. They both collaborate with Remy Danton, a business lobbyist and former Underwood employee, to raise cash for their operations and increase their reach.

The Deuce

The story, which is set in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s, depicts the growing violence caused by the drug pandemic. Frankie and Vincent Martino, twin brothers, start working as frontmen for the Mafia out of Times Square, where Eileen “Candy” Merrell, a street prostitute who leaves the perils of the streets to work as an actor and director in the newly legalized porn industry, also resides. While the second season jumps five years forward to 1977 and ends in the summer of 1978, the first season takes place in 1971 and 1972. The third season is set in the years 1984–1985.
