Sara Benincasa is an American comedian and author. Benincasa was a citizen journalist for MTV, covering the 2008 US presidential election as part of the Emmy Award-winning Think campaign.

Following her graduation, Benincasa worked as an AmeriCorps teacher in Texas. She was a citizen journalist for MTV, covering the 2008 US presidential election as part of MTV’s 2008 Emmy Award-winning. Benincasa was featured as a comedic blogger on Nerve.com’s BlogALog. Her final post on the SJ1000 blog was from April 2008, in which she advised readers who were missing her online presence to visit her official website, her Myspace page, her MTV Think profile, or her blog. In addition to her blog, Benincasa filmed a series of interviews dubbed Tub Talk with Sara B. The series starred Benincasa in a bathtub with various comedic personalities, such as Reggie Watts, Jonathan Ames, and Andy Borowitz. Benincasa has since updated the web series on her YouTube account as Gettin’ Wet with Sar.
Benincasa started making a vlog in September 2008, where she plays Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president. She pays close attention to Palin’s Midwest accent in particular. The videos were first posted on Benincasa’s YouTube profile. However, after a collaboration with the humor website 23/6 of the Huffington Post was formed, the videos were transferred to the twenty-three-six YouTube page. Benincasa created a solo performance in 2009 that explored her experiences with panic attacks and agoraphobia. She later sold Agorafabulous!’s literary rights to HarperCollins division William Morrow. From September 2010 to September 2011, Benincasa co-hosted the Cosmo Radio sex/relationship chat show Get in Bed on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
She then co-created the “Sex and Other Human Activities” podcast with Marcus Parks, which debuted in February 2011 and includes a segment answering sex-related queries via email and Formspring. The September 19, 2012, episode “End of an Era” is referred to as “Sara’s final show on the old SAOHA”. Benincasa offered $300 in January 2018 to any journalist who questioned President Trump about the United States’ relationship with the fictional African nation of Wakanda, which is home to Marvel Comics’ Black Panther. Her tweet about Afro-futurism went viral. She was highlighted in a 30-minute YouTube documentary on October 10, 2019, which was produced by SoulPancake and Funny or Die.
