Mott began his television career as a reporter and writer for WVNY in Burlington, Vermont, and later as an anchor for KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri. He won a National Emmy Award for his coverage of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign in Africa. He also received several Emmy Award nominations, including for his reporting on Hurricane Katrina. From May 2005 to January 2020, he was a correspondent for NBC News in Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta. Mott also served as co-host of CBS’s “Saturday Morning Show.” Mott covered two Olympic Games (Vancouver 2010 and Rio 2016) for NBC and broadcast them worldwide. He also worked for the Kansas City Star/Times, the NCAA, the Kansas City Chiefs, the former Jack Nicklaus’ Executive Sports International, KPMG, and worked for publishing companies in New York City and Palm Beach/Publishing in Florida. Mott still has a private driver’s license.
