Glee

Rosemont has appeared in musical comedy-drama Glee as recurring character Carole Hudson, the on-screen mother of Finn Hudson. Carole Hummel (formerly Carole Hudson) is Finn’s widowed mother, Kurt’s stepmother, and the wife of Kurt’s father Burt. Finn was once in a relationship with a lawn-care worker who later left her for a younger lady. When she discovers Quinn is pregnant, she lets her come in with them when her father kicks her out.

In order to become closer to Finn, Kurt arranges for Carole to meet with his father, Burt. They decide to live together, but Finn makes a homophobic slur against Kurt, and Burt refuses to let him stay in his home. However, their relationship continues, and Carole pays a visit to Burt’s bedside when he suffers a heart attack early in season two.

She marries him later in the fall. According to Time’s James Poniewozik, Carole’s reaction to Quinn’s pregnancy proved how far Glee had progressed from the “broadly caricatured show” it was in its first episodes. He commented that in the pilot episode, Carole was “just the slightly pathetic figure we saw pining after the lawn-care guy,” but her reaction to Quinn’s pregnancy was “a brilliant bit of characterization through small moments,” an example of how Glee was “becoming very good at showing how life happens in small exchanges in people’s laundry rooms and finished basements.”

Private Practice

Rosemont portrayed Lea Seibert in the season two Grey’s Anatomy episode Enough is Enough. She also appeared as Jackie in the season four Private Practice episode A Better Place to Be, and Jane in the season five Station 19 episode The Road You Didn’t Take.

Lea, her husband, Bob, and their son, Scott, were involved in an automobile accident. A motorist had cut her off, and Bob, enraged, caused an accident. The driver of the second automobile involved perished, leaving Bob in critical condition. Lea and Scott sustained minor injuries and were monitored, while Bob was critically hurt and had to have surgery.

Jackie’s kid, Kenny, was bullied by his anime-loving peers and his mother, who frequently pulled him out of school. He attempted to flee by removing his cartoon shirt, but his mother resisted. Kenny’s mother blamed herself for his actions, but when he attempted suicide, they informed him that wasn’t the answer. Despite his mother’s attempts to pull him out of school, Kenny agreed to remain attending his current school and seeing Sheldon. They bonded over anime and Kenny’s determination to stay at his current school, despite his mother’s attempts to persuade him otherwise.

He was already in liver failure prior to the event, and the vehicle collision exacerbated his condition. While the doctors were operating, they inquired about a possible donor. Scott had been screened as a match but had declined to be a donor. Lea pressed her son to donate after they were told Bob wouldn’t survive the procedure without a transplant. After talking with Alex about his own experience, Scottie agreed to give, but only if he and his mother moved out of the house and she informed the authorities everything her husband had done to her.

9-1-1

She appeared as Lola Peterson on 9-1-1. Lola, the woman who stabbed her husband Norman, attempts to rebuild their relationship after he is arrested for public disorder and firearm use. She confesses her mental health difficulties and flashes Norman a camera, who initially assumes everything is normal. Lola is finally jailed and reunited with her husband, who expresses gratitude for her efforts. Five years later, Lola and Norman retire from their employment and go on a cruise. Athena discovers Lola’s involvement with Julian Enes, who also assisted him with international smuggling. Lola is imprisoned for her role in Julian’s plans, which resulted in the sinking of the cruise ship. Lola requests Norman’s forgiveness, and he promises to address it 10-20 years after she is released from prison.
