Rolonda Watts is an American actress, producer, and talk show host on television and radio. She is best known for hosting the internationally syndicated talk show Rolonda, which aired from 1994 to 1997. She is currently Sherri’s announcer.

Watts returned to North Carolina after graduating from Columbia and began her career as a general assignment reporter at WFMY-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina. She later worked as an anchor of a weekly political forum and reporter at WNBC, where she was nominated for an Emmy, and WABC-TV in New York. She began hosting Attitudes, a Lifetime Television talk show, in 1991. The following year, she began working as a senior correspondent, weekend anchor, and producer for the newsmagazine Inside Edition. The syndicator of Inside Edition and The Oprah Winfrey Show, King World Productions, then approached her and asked her to launch her own talk show. From January 17, 1994, to September 1997, Rolonda aired for nearly four seasons.

Watts was also the show’s supervising producer and one of its owners. Watts stated in a 2003 interview with Soap Opera Digest that she cancelled the show rather than jeopardize her integrity. “‘Well, that was really nice of you to be so respectful, but where’s Jerry [Springer]?'” We had to make a difficult choice: either go that route or find something else to do.” Watts left her talk show and moved to Hollywood, California to pursue a career in acting. Her first break came in 1997, when she was cast as Vivica Shaw in Sister, Sister, a six-episode role. Watts has appeared as a guest star in dozens of television shows since then.

Watts is also the CEO and President of Watts Works Productions, which co-produced her talk show Rolonda. She hosted Lie Detector, a reality show for PAX-TV, in 2005. That same year, she took over as Judge Joe Brown’s announcer. She also appeared on Live With Regis and Kelly, where she was a judge for the show’s “Great American Co-Host Search.” Watts returned to her talk-show roots in October 2006. She agreed to host an afternoon radio show for GreenStone Media, a radio network founded by feminists Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda.[3] She hosted the show until the network went out of business in August 2007. Watts later worked as an announcer for the game show Temptation, which aired from September 2007 to May 2008.

Watts is the voice of Professor Wiseman in the PBS Kids animated series Curious George, as well as “Gladys” in the Nickelodeon series The Penguins of Madagascar, as of 2022. Watts is currently filming two films and has five others in the works, including Soul Ties, Broken Roads, and 25 Hill, which was written and produced by Corbin Bernsen. Between the months of June and August of 2017, Rolonda began her stand-up comedy career and was offered a CBS Radio radio show called Sundays with Rolonda. Rolonda started her own webseries called ROmance on YouTube, and she also starred as a choir director in Bounce TV’s sitcom series Mann & Wife.
