Roger Wan Golden Eagle
Wang returned to China in 1992 and established the Golden Eagle International Group in Nanjing, beginning with the construction of a tower and the establishment of a department store. The company grew into a conglomerate that specialized in everything from real estate development to automotive maintenance. In 1995, he founded the Golden Eagle Retail Group to operate department stores throughout China, particularly in Jiangsu province; the retail Group went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2006, ticker 3308, with Wang as the primary shareholder.
He was named to Forbes’ List of Billionaires in 2007 as well as The Forbes 400 Richest Americans. Wang is the chairman of Golden Eagle as of August 2016. He was the previous CEO, and Su Kai has been the current CEO since August 2014.

He is a member of The US-China Policy Foundation’s Executive Board. Wang’s residential building in Los Angeles’ Arts District neighborhood was placed in the Rent Escrow Account Program in 2019. The Rent Escrow Account Program (R.E.A.P.) is a “last resort” program designed to protect renters in Los Angeles from slumlords who refuse to repair substandard housing. In July of 2020, approximately 20 tenants in his apartment building filed a lawsuit alleging, among other things, tenant harassment, breach of the warranty of habitability, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The outcome of the case is pending a trial scheduled for 2023.
