Dunbar was recognized by TV Guide as one of “Television’s 50 Sexiest Stars of All Time” for his starring role as Kenny Chadway on the television series Soul Food. He was cast in a regular role on the television series Prison Break as Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin. Dunbar featured in the brief TNT medical drama Heartland in 2007. He appeared as himself as a guest on Noah’s Arc to offer screenwriter and show protagonist Noah some ideas for his upcoming film, Fine Art. In addition, he was recognized for his portrayal of “Pookie” in the TV series The Game. He also had a recurring part on the UPN sitcom Girlfriends. In addition, he frequently appeared in the brief FX series Terriers.

Dunbar has also made guest appearances on Earth 2, Felicity, The Pretender, Two Guys and a Girl, and North Shore.
