Robert Wuhl is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He is best known for creating and starring in the television comedy series Arliss, in Tim Burton’s Batman and Larry in Bull Durham.

Wuhl was born in Union, New Jersey, to Jewish parents. His father worked as a fruit distributor. Wuhl attended Union High School before enrolling in the University of Houston, where he was involved in the drama department and the Epsilon-Omicron chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Wuhl received a Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater in April 2012.

Batman
Wuhl was the actor who portrayed Alexander Knox in Batman. He hosted Batman: The Making of a Hero and starred in an MTV commercial for the Steal the Batmobile Contest in 1989. Alexander Knox was a correspondent for the Gotham Globe. Knox was determined to prove Batman’s existence, even if it meant sacrificing his career and being ridiculed by coworkers and municipal officials. He began a connection with famed photographer Vicki Vale, who shared an interest in Batman.

Career
