He has contributed to ABC’s Nightline and World News Tonight, as well as PBS’ Frontline, NOVA, and NOW with Bill Moyers. He was dubbed “the most inventive network reporter in television” by TV Guide, and New York Magazine described him as “the man who simplifies without being simple.”He was NPR’s business and economics correspondent from 1978 to 1985. In 1999, he hosted an eight-part prime-time series called Brave New World for ABC Nightline (which regularly featured his colleagues from They Might Be Giants as musical guests). Krulwich took over as host and managing editor of the pioneering PBS science show NOVA scienceNOW in 2004. The show frequently handled science issues that were thought to be too complicated for television, sometimes using cartoons and musical production pieces to illustrate esoteric concepts. Krulwich re-established a partnership with NPR in 2005, where he made regular contributions to many science-related programs while continuing to produce occasional parts for ABC News.
