Robert Capron, Jr. is an American actor. He is most recognized for his role as Rowley Jefferson, Greg Heffley’s best buddy, in the first three Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies. He began his acting career at the age of eight, when he enrolled in Trinity Repertory Company’s after-school play program.

Career
Robert began his acting career at the age of eight, when he enrolled in Trinity Repertory Company’s after-school play program. Later that year, he landed the role of Turkey Boy in Trinity’s production of A Christmas Carol. Since then, Robert has played a variety of roles on stage. Robert has recently focused his attention on movies. Robert’s first major part was in Bride Wars, where he played Robert. Shortly later, he was cast as Young Dave’s Pal in the film Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Robert’s most well-known part is as Rowley in Fox’s three-film franchise Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010,2011). The third installment, Dog Days, debuted in August 2012.
Robert won his first voiceover part as Bob in Tim Burton’s film Frankenweenie, which was released in October 2012. In April 2012, Robert played Young Curly in the film The Three Stooges. In 2013, Robert played Kyle in the film The Way, Way Back, directed by Faxon and Nash. In 2013, Robert gained his first encounter with motion-capture 3D CGI when he played Derek in the motion-capture version of Tarzan. In the 2015 Indie film Annabelle Hooper and The Ghosts of Nantucket, Robert costarred with Bailey Madison as Jake. In 2016, Robert earned the role of Jack Black’s son Dave in the film The Polka King. The film also stars Jenny Slate, Jackie Weaver, and Jason Schwartzman.
In addition to theater and movies, Robert is a returning guest star on CBS’s Elementary, where he portrays Mason, one of Sherlock’s “irregulars”. He has also been on television as a guest star on ABC’s The Middle and the lead in two episodes of The Hub Network’s The Haunting Hour. Robert enjoys reading, acting, history, movies, and developing his own screenplays. He also enjoys swimming, tennis, and playing video games.
