Robert Bailey Jr. For All Mankind
In the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind, he plays NASA astronaut Will Tyler. William “Will” Tyler is an American astronaut who participated in NASA’s Sojourner-1 Mars mission in the mid-1990s. Will Tyler worked on a Jamestown mission with Rolan Baranov from 1983 and 1994, and they became excellent friends aboard the lunar base.
Tyler’s coming-out on Mars in 1995 sparked outrage at NASA and the White House, prompting President Ellen Wilson to put pressure on her cabinet to declare LGBT persons ineligible to serve in the military. When Tyler returned to Earth, Wilson signed an executive order making it unlawful to question someone’s sexual orientation and dismissed him from the military.
Baranov distanced himself from Will because he was concerned about his health and the possibility of contracting AIDS. Will confronted Baranov about his homophobia, which resulted in an altercation. Will and Baranov were told to put their differences aside for a rescue operation following the Gagarin Ridge drilling tragedy. They buried explosives within a lava tube, causing debris to fall and releasing Ed Baldwin and Danny Stevens, who were imprisoned aboard one of Helios’ HAB rovers.
On September 3, 1995, Ellen Wilson signed an executive order rescinding her prior one, enabling Will to continue his service and awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Baranov apologized for his prior actions and expressed thanks for the opportunity to be his buddy.

Jordan’s friendship with Dr. Scott Clemmens complicates matters when Scott is promoted to Chief of Surgery and frequently disagrees with TC.
