Rob Fukuzaki is an American journalist who works as a weekday sports anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News and as a host of special sports programmings such as Slam Dunk, Chargers pre-and post-game shows, and Saturday Night Sports. Rob became the first male Japanese-American TV anchor in Los Angeles local TV news when he joined ABC7 in 1994.

Rob began his broadcasting career in Hawaii with the Top 40 radio station KXPW. Soon after, Rob began working part-time as a sports reporter for KITV in Honolulu. He eventually landed a full-time job at the station as a weekday sports reporter and weekend anchor. One of his most memorable KITV assignments was an award-winning special on Sumo in Japan. The broadcast featured three of Hawaii’s top wrestlers, including Grand Champion Akebono and Grand Champion Musashimaru.

Rob has done a lot of community service since joining ABC7, hosting charity events and emceeing benefit dinners. Rob founded the Heads Up Youth Foundation in 1996, of which he is chairman and his wife Sharil is executive director. The foundation’s mission is to assist disadvantaged youth in Southern California.
