He is best known for his daily Hollywood talk on Nine’s breakfast show Today from 2006 to 2015. During this time she was also the style expert on Nine’s makeover program Domestic Blitz and also appeared on another Nine program such as 20 to One. He recently contributed to Network Ten morning show Studio 10. In 2019, Reed ranked among the top 10 reality shows on the network I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Out of Here! In 1999, Reed caused a stir when he was hired as an entertainment reporter for Northwest Cable News in Seattle, Washington, becoming the area’s first on-air entertainer. He quickly became known for his hilarious interviews, insider talks and “Richard’s Reel” movie reviews.
In 2004, Reed moved to Hollywood and appeared on Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and E! He gained fame as a producer by creating daily stories for. network. While working at Paramount Pictures, he began providing occasional commentary for the Australia Today Show, which immediately caught the attention of viewers. The weekly show soon became a permanent fixture, leading to four performances a day in Hollywood. He appeared in the series for 8 years. In 2008, Reed became a cast member of the Sunday night reality show Home Blitz, alongside Scott Cam and Shelley Craft. The show ran for four series. From 2009 to 2015, Reid was the entertainment and Hollywood commentator for Australia’s 2Day FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Malaysia’s Hitz.fm’s Morning Crew, and South Africa’s Jacaranda FM breakfast.
parted ways with Today in 2015 and returned to Channel Nine the same year as a member of the fourth season of Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Although he appeared in every episode, he was fired in the two elimination episodes at the end of the finale. In 2019, Reid returned to the reality TV format by participating in the fifth season of I’m a Good Person… Get Me Out of Here! in South Africa. After receiving high ratings, he was given the title “King of the Jungle”. Reed will make his Australian stage debut in Bonnie Lythgoe’s stunning 3D musical Jack and the Beanstalk at Sydney’s historic National Theater in July 2019. Reid splits his time between Los Angeles and Sydney and appears as a panelist on Network Ten’s morning show Studio Ten. Reid made his debut on Australia Day in February 2020.
