Richard Morecroft Biography

Richard Morecroft is an English-born Australian radio announcer, television newsreader and broadcaster, and environmentalist. He hosted the Adelaide News bulletin before becoming the long-running host of ABC News NSW’s nightly broadcast from 1983 to 2002. He presented the quiz program Letters and Numbers from 2010 until 2012.

Morecroft worked with ABC’s Natural History Unit on the creation of Raising Archie, a documentary about a flying fox that he nurtured and kept under the news desk while at work.
