In 1975, Henson worked as a puppeteer for puppeteer Vazh on Saturday Night Live. Before acting, she performed with Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross. He is known for discussing race in comedy. Hansome began his acting career as a way to earn money from performing, and by 1989 he was performing regularly at colleges and clubs. He also performed under the name Passion, including the comedy troupe “Comedy Comes to Harlem” in 1985 and later “Writer and Artist” at the Nuyorican Poets Café, and his self-titled “Last” at Braid Stop in 1997 . Hansome was featured in Debra J. Robinson’s 1984 documentary “What Would I Do,” which chronicled four black female stand-up comedians: Alice Arthur, Jane Galvin-Lewis, Jane Galvin-Lewis and Marsha Warfield as they faced difficulties in their work. In 1989, she appeared in the HBO comedy series “First & Ten” and in the movie “3000”. In 2005, Hansen directed the film Sweet Song of the Soul, starring Melba Moore.
