Raul Peimbert Diaz is a Mexican-American newscaster. He began his career in television as a news editor for a station in Guadalajara at a young age. He went on to anchor the news for Channel 4 (TV_MAS) in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, and later for the local Televisa station in Veracruz.

Raul Peimbert Career
He began his career in television as a news editor for a station in Guadalajara at a young age. He went on to anchor the news for Channel 4 (TV_MAS) in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, and later for the local Televisa station in Veracruz. He began his career in Spanish-language television in the United States in 1991, first as a co-anchor at Univision and later as the main news anchor at Telemundo. A few months later, in addition to the news show, he launched “América Habla con Raul Peimbert,” a one-on-one interview show that has allowed him to be one of the few Hispanic journalists to interview more than 40 Latin American presidents.
His work extends beyond news; “America Habla” has given him the opportunity to interview notable figures such as Plácido Domingo, Rigoberta Mench, Isabel Allende, Jacobo Zabludovsky, Carlos Fuentes, Joan Manuel Serrat, Elena Poniatowska, Mercedes Sosa, Oswaldo Guayasamn, José Luis Cuevas, Alberto Cortez, and Facundo Cabral. Other special assignments include all of John Paul II’s visits to Latin America, ongoing news coverage of the murdered Mexican presidential candidate, Luis Donaldo Colosio, the Los Angeles earthquake, the Federal Building explosion in Oklahoma, the terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York, the Los Angeles fires, the floods in Tabasco, Mexico in 2007, and Hurricane Harvey in 2017, among others.
In 1998, he joined Radio Unica, a Hispanic radio network, where he co-hosted the show “Muy Temprano” with his wife, Fulvia Peimbert. He also worked as a news anchor for MVS Noticias in Mexico City before moving on to Telemundo in Los Angeles. He was hired as the General Coordinator of Media Affairs for the government of the Mexican state of Veracruz in 2002. He stepped down in 2004 after the former governor, Miguel Alemán Velasco, resigned. Peimbert worked as a primary anchor for Univision affiliate KMEX in Los Angeles from November 2005 to November 2011. In 2012, he became the lead anchor at KXLN, Houston’s Univision affiliate.
