Lempert is the Founder and Editor of SupermarketGuru.com, a food and health news hub founded in 1994 that has a consumer panel of over 100,000 opt-in members countrywide who contribute thoughts on food and health-related issues and products. As Editor, he creates a weekly “New Product Hit and Miss” feature and distributes e-publications for consumers and businesses, like Xtreme Retail23 and Food Nutrition & Science.
Lempert established “Phil’s Supermarket,” the first grocery in the virtual environment of Second Life, in 2007. Lempert created and hosted a documentary called Food Sense with Phil Lempert, which was broadcast on public television stations in the United States in 2010.
